EasyRead is an intelligent optical character recognition software packagethat automatically converts scanned documents into ASCII text withouttedious retyping. The recognized text can then be edited, searched, andimported into almost any desktop publishing program. EasyRead is acomponent of the ImageWorx product suite, which consists of the EasyScanImage Scanning System, EasyRead OCR software, and DigitalPhoto ImageEditing software. Depending upon your imaging applications, thesemodules can work independently or as an integrated imaging suite. Allthe products use a consistent Motif graphical user interface and X WindowSystem on most UNIX platforms including SPARC, HP, IBM, Silicon Graphics,DEC, UnixWare, and SCO.EasyRead uses intelligent "omnifont" character recognition technology toconvert scanned or faxed documents into ASCII text that can be importedinto any word processor or desktop publishing software. EasyReadautomatically recognizes a wide variety of fonts and typestyles and alsoperforms automatic page segmentation.
